Fundación Casa de México exhibits ‘Adrian Burns: hidden universe’
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Until 28 August and within the framework of PHotoEspaña 2022 | 25 years, Fundación Casa de México in Spain reaffirms its commitment to current Mexican art by presenting the photographic exhibition Adrian Burns: Hidden Universe, by the Mexican artist Adrian Burns.

The exhibition consists of a total of 25 photographs printed on canvas or cotton paper, which are then intervened with graphite and acrylic varnish in a new technique initiated by the artist. Hence, the exhibition is entitled Hidden Universe, as it proposes to the public a new look at nature and the world around us.

Graphite and acrylic are two reflective materials, so the intervention is only visible in the presence of light. If there is no light, the images remain intact. In this way, Burns’ landscapes question the visual habits of the viewer, as the artist states: “The beauty of the pieces is that they are interactive in a way. Whoever sees them in the morning light will have a different impression than whoever sees them in the afternoon light or in artificial light at night.”
