The Ministry of Internal Affairs has already got the go-ahead from the Ukrainian government to send a Police Support Team (EPA) to investigate war crimes and crimes against humanity in Ukraine as a result of the Russian invasion.

According to police sources informed the Europa Press agency, the Government of Volodymir Zelensky has already communicated to Spain its willingness to host the Spanish investigators in the Kharkov area as of this Monday. The EPA, composed of members of the National Police and the Civil Guard, will be at the disposal of the International Criminal Court (ICC) and will be dedicated to collecting and analyzing evidence on the possible crimes and their alleged perpetrators. No further details have been reported for security reasons.

The Ministry of the Interior reported two months ago that this group would be composed of a “minimum of eight” experts from the National Police and the Civil Guard belonging to the Scientific, Judicial and Investigation Police units, as well as specialists in explosives deactivation and technicians in Nuclear, Radiological, Biological and Chemical incidents (NRBQ units).
