The UCJC presents the exhibition ‘Ramón y Cajal, Science and Art’

Until 31 July, the Universidad Camilo José Cela, together with the Instituto Cajal and the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), is presenting the exhibition Ramón y Cajal, Science and Art, dedicated to the Spanish Nobel Prize-winning physician and scientist Santiago Ramón y Cajal. The cultural company Rocaviva Eventos has collaborated with this exhibition.

 

This afternoon at 6.30 p.m. a round table will be held at the Postgraduate Campus, 3rd floor, of the university (C/ Almagro 5) as the official presentation of the exhibition, with the participation of Emilio Lora-Tamayo D’Ocón, rector of the Camilo José Cela University, and Rosa M. Menéndez López, president of the Higher Council for Scientific Research, with Francisco López Muñoz and Rosario Moratalla Villalba, curators of the exhibition, acting as moderators. The latter will present the exhibition and then Fernando de Castro Soubriet, senior scientist and head of the Developmental Neurobiology Group-GNDe, Instituto Cajal (CSIC), will speak about the scientific Cajal; Javier de Felipe Oroquieta, research professor and head of the Microorganisation of the Normal Cerebral Cortex and Circuit Alterations Group, Instituto Cajal (CSIC), about the artist Cajal, and Francisco López Muñoz, vice-rector for Research, Science and Doctoral Studies at the UCJC, about Cajal, politics and social commitment. At the end of the event, a Spanish wine will be offered.
