in Culture & Art, Leisure

Casa Asia presents two projects at the Real Jardín Botánico of Madrid (Plaza de Murillo, 2). On the one hand, the installation Un jardín zen negro (A Black Zen Garden), built with the ashes of the Cumbre Vieja volcano on the island of La Palma, and, on the other, the exhibition project La risa de las flores (The Laughter of Flowers), which brings together works by fifteen Asian and Spanish artists who have investigated the culture of flowers in Asia.

The project Un jardín zen negro has been conceived as an ephemeral installation that aims to “pay homage to the inhabitants of the island of La Palma” and is presented on the terrace of La Flor next to the Palacio Villanueva, occupying an area of 250 m2 of the RJB, and can be visited until 7 December 2022. The exhibition La risa de las flores is located in the bonsai greenhouse and in the Patio del Tilo, and will be open until 25 September 2022. Access to the exhibitions is included in the general admission to the Jardín Botánico.

These projects are sponsored by the ACS Foundation and Cabildo de La Palma, with the collaboration of CSIC, Real Jardín Botánico de Madrid, Embassy of Japan, Naturpiedra, Burgos & Garrido Arquitectos, aTt Técnicos de Teatro, Fundación Japón, Veranos de la Villa and Museo Lázaro Galdiano.
