The Ambassador of Luxembourg, Christian Biever, received the Gold Medal of Honour of the Royal Corps of the Nobility of the Principality of Asturias from the hands of the Corporation’s Magistral Councillor, Francisco de Borbón, Duke of Seville, during a luncheon held on 10 June.

In his speech of thanks, Ambassador Biever underlined the strong historical and economic ties between Luxembourg and Spain and recalled that the Grand Duchess of Luxembourg is a Royal Protector of the Asturian Corporation.

At the same event, the Royal Corporation took the opportunity to bid farewell to the ambassadors of Costa Rica and Honduras, who are ending their mandates in Spain.

The event was attended by more than a hundred guests, including the ambassadors of Guatemala and the Democratic Republic of Congo, the ambassadors of Norway, Malaysia, Czech Republic, Slovenia, El Salvador, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Indonesia, Ireland and Malta; and the counsellor of the Belgian Embassy, Tom Vermeulen, as well as the Deputy Director General for International Affairs of the Mayor’s Office of Madrid, Rocío Picón.
