On behalf of the President of the Republic of Colombia, Iván Duque, the Ambassador to Spain, Luis Guillermo Plata, This week decorated six Spanish personalities for their special merits and services to the country.
During the ceremony, Guillermo González, Director of Sales in Spain for Iberia-British Airways; Catalina Nannig, Vice President of Sales and Distribution for Avianca Airlines; Dr. Tomás Cobo, President of the General Council of Medical Associations of Spain, and Jaime Montalvo, Vice President of the Mutua Group and President of the NGO Ayuda en Acción, received the National Order of Merit. Forme minister of Foreign Affairs Trinidad Jiménez, President of the Spain-Colombia Council Foundation; and María Serrat, Director General of the Conservatory Foundation of the Barcelona Lyceum, were awarded the Order of San Carlos. The six were honoured for their contribution to strengthening relations between Colombia and Spain.
The President of Colombia, Iván Duque, declared via video broadcast that the winners received “with these decorations the affection and gratitude of an entire country. What a joy to confirm that Colombians can count on the affection and commitment of people as special as yourselves, who through your work help us to strengthen day after day the bonds of brotherhood that unite us both nations”.
For Ambassador Luis Guillermo Plata, this tribute is the work of many decades. “Today is one of the days we celebrate, today is one of the days we are happy, today is one of the days when the words gratitude, affection, affection, impact shine. We must thank and recognise people who have contributed to the lives of many people, to the lives of Colombians,’ he added.
