The exhibition of the Korean designer and founder of the brand CAHIERS, Kim A-Young, continues at the Centro Cultural Coreano (Paseo de la Castellana, 15).
In this first exhibition entitled K-fashion or Korean fashion, the Centro Cultural Coreano and Kim A-Young invite you on a dazzling journey that brings together the harmony between traditional and modern aesthetics.
Under the slogan The old dresses the new, the Korean designer synthesises the benefits of the handbook, traditional Korean clothing, and the architectural beauty of Korean palaces from a more contemporary point of view. The three-dimensional pattern inspired by the elegant curves of the ladies of the royal court is reinterpreted, inviting the viewer to reflect on the importance of cultural heritage. At the same time, the collection conveys his firm conviction that Korean beauty transcends time and space.
On display are the latest designs from her S/S 2022 collection, inspired by Korean Palaces and Hanbok, recently exhibited at Seoul Fashion Week 2022. The exhibition can be visited free of charge until 29 July at the Han-ul Gallery (Ground Floor) of the Centre from Monday to Friday from 10am to 7pm.
The designs on display have a romantic and dreamy style, creating a calm and peaceful space. They show delicate details of haute couture in which ruffles, trimmings and appliqués are used. Without colouring or printing techniques, she uses neutral colours that give the garments a sense of simplicity, elegance and harmony with fluid silhouettes and volume, the hallmarks of CAHIERS.
