The Council of Ministers on Tuesday authorized a voluntary contribution of 450,000 euros from the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) as support in the development of work to promote international mobility in the context of the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The full resumption of international mobility and the lasting opening of all tourist-sending markets is a strategic priority that benefits the tourism sector,” the Government stated. The OECD approved the Secure International Mobility Initiative on May 31, 2021, which included a set of flexible and voluntary guidelines to help countries coordinate the global response in the context of the reopening of international travel, as well as the creation of a forum for international security knowledge sharing.
