The Dominican Republic will have an active participation in the 81st Madrid Feria del Libro, which is being held from today until June 12 in Parque El Retiro.
The Embassy of the Caribbean country has coordinated a series of activities for the general public. On Monday 30 May, the books En mis andares con mi alma rebelde, by Lidia Martínez de Macarrulla, and Testimonio de acoso y resistencia durante la tiranía, by Jeanne Marion Landais, will be presented at 6 p.m. in the Eugenio Trías Library in Parque El Retiro.
On Wednesday 1 June, together with the Banreservas Volunteers, there will be a storytelling session of the book Un banco de historias, written and illustrated by Taína Almodóvar at 11 am in the Children’s Pavilion of the Fair. On Friday 3 June, the poetry book AIRE, by Ylonka Nacidit-Perdomo, and the book El fideicomiso inmobiliario y la inversión extranjera como instrumentos para mitigar el déficit habitacional, by Maridalia Rodríguez Padilla, will be presented at 12 noon at the Eugenio Trías Library in Parque El Retiro.
On Tuesday 7 June, the book Dominicana creativa. Talento en la economía naranja, by Banco Popular Dominicano, at 7pm in the Miguel de Cervantes Hall, Casa América, and on Thursday 9th June the book Postales de nuestra memoria: República Dominicana (1889-1945), by the Firm Inicia, at 5pm in the Ambassadors Hall of Casa América.
On Friday, June 10th at 10.30 am, the book Hispanas Influyentes, edited by Yaneli Sosa, will be presented, and at 11 am, Voces de la diáspora dominicana en España, edited by Ada Wiscovitch Carlo, in the Caixa Bank Pavilion, Parque El Retiro.
To conclude the Dominican participation in the Fair, the book Ser de Oscar de la Renta, by the Fundación E. León Jimenes, will be presented on Saturday 11 at 12 noon at the Museo del Traje, Avenida Juan de Herrera 2, as part of the Saturday programme of the Friends of the Museum.
