More than 40 free concerts of different musical styles, dance and acrobatic shows, flamenco, theatrical performances and free live music shows will take place during the San Isidro de Madrid 2022 festivities, which begin today, Friday, and which will be held on four large stages in the city.
The Pradera de San Isidro, Las Vistillas, Plaza Mayor and Matadero Madrid will host the most varied musical events, from the most traditional to the most innovative. The Madrid City Council’s Department of Culture, Tourism and Sport has planned a varied programme for all kinds of audiences, so that both locals and visitors to the capital can enjoy the San Isidro 2022 festivities to the full, recovering their traditional venues and capacity. In addition, the City Council remains committed to making these festivities accessible, inclusive and safe.
To begin with, the Madrid Symphonic Band will open the programme in the Plaza Mayor, tonight at 9.30 pm, with a traditional repertoire full of great classics, such as Agua, azucarillos y aguardiente, La Revoltosa and La Gran Vía.
With the aim of guaranteeing safe and violence-free leisure and cultural spaces, this edition of San Isidro is once again committed to the implementation of Violet Points in its different venues, in coordination with the Madrid City Council’s Department of Family, Equality and Social Welfare. These Points are spaces for information, awareness and attention to prevent violence against women, which this year will also be energised by social intervention professionals who will be available to inform, disseminate and prevent within the framework of the campaign ‘¡Ni Una!
All the programme, concerts, cultural events and shows can be consulted on the San Isidro 2022 fiestas website.
