The media have focused these days on making this issue the first topic of national debate. However, the answer is very simple. A resounding NO. His allies are not going to let Sánchez fall.
It is still incredible how the left, with the conscious or unconscious support of the media, is able to make publicity campaigns using the Pegasus wiretapping issue to their advantage to present the government as a victim of who knows what evildoers. This removes from the spotlight the major problems of the country. Thus disappear from the political debate our unemployment rate which is the highest in Europe, the percentage of growth of the economy insufficient to compensate for the fall in these past years; the public debt that has grown more than 20% with Sanchez; the risk of zero interest payments on the debt if the European Central Bank does not continue to renew our public debt at cost; and of course the issue of alleged corruption by the costs of the masks bought by the Government or by the autonomies dominated by the left, which now keeps a suspicious silence about the brother of Ayuso.
Pegasus has allowed Sanchez and the leftist governments to escape from these key issues of the political debate. Who benefits that Pegasus has become a frontal issue in all the media? Are the Catalan independentistas, the ETA’s Bildu and the communists going to drop Sanchez’s government? No. No way. They all prefer Sánchez, a president who has done the opposite of what he had promised in his election campaign and whose hand did not tremble to give in on everything in order to be sworn in as president. They know that they cannot find a better ally. They know that the current president is willing to do anything to stay in power. That is why, for the sake of what is in Spain’s best interest, these political publicity stunts must be denounced. We must not pay attention to the criticisms made to the president by the radical left and the pro-independence movement. It is not necessary to enter into that rag. Until the last moment they will be with Sánchez and they will try to make that last moment as late as possible.
In view of this, the opposition must focus on the issues that are important for the country and that hurt the government. It is necessary to ask for transparency and criticize the possible corruption that may have occurred regarding the masks bought by the government or by the socialist autonomies, making clear to the public opinion the behavior of all, left and right. It is necessary to denounce the abyss to which their education law is leading us. It is necessary to highlight their unbridled public spending, their excessive support to chiringuitos, media and trade unions and above all we must not accept their manipulation of corruption. In the end the left pretends, without the slightest proof, that Ayuso and the Community of Madrid will be remembered in history as the focus of corruption in Spain. Enough is enough. It is necessary to say repeatedly that enough of lies and to denounce with perseverance all their corruptions. We must not let them pass as the PP did naively with the biggest corruption issue in Spain: the case of the ERES in Andalusia. The opposition, while making and explaining its proposals, must not fail to denounce the lying and corrupt baggage of the left, including its biased approach to the Historical Memory. All these denunciations are also valid for the electoral campaign for the next Andalusian autonomous elections. Will the right wing be aware of this? We shall see.
For the time being, the media circus of the left has pulled another rabbit out of the hat: the phrase of the president of Iberdrola about “dumb” consumers, something that may be more or less criticized (I have not studied it in depth) but which is surely not the main problem of Spain. Until the Andalusian elections Sanchez and his media supporters will bring up many other issues in a biased way. Let’s hope that neither PP nor VOX fall into these traps. The important thing is that they concentrate, on the one hand, on the key issues of the economy, unemployment, economic growth, public waste, public debt and corruption and, on the other hand, on rebuilding a patriotic and supportive vision of a Spain in which we all fit, including those who seek to destroy it. Neither PP nor VOX should let them be misled by minor collateral issues. Sánchez and his allies will not break under any circumstances. I am sorry for the moderate socialists, but they must urgently reconsider their vote if they want a united and supportive Spain, at the same time fraternal and respectful with its regional differences.
