This evening at 6 p.m., the Forum Libertas, Veritas et Legalitas presents at the Schiller International-The Global American University (Madrid Campus-Joaquín Costa, 20) a debate on the consequences for the European Union of the new Spanish position on Western Sahara.
The event will begin with an introduction by Fernando Maura (in the photo), founder of the foreign policy forum Libertas, Veritas et Legálitas, and will continue with a debate on the following topics: Historical and political framework, by Ana Camacho, journalist and lecturer at the Francisco de Vitoria University specialising in Maghreb and Africa; Economic and energy aspects, with the intervention of Nemesio Fernández-Cuesta Luca de Tena, President of EOLIA renovables, former Secretary of State for Energy and former Director General of Repsol; Diplomatic consequences, by José de Carvajal Salido, former Spanish ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco; and Legal aspects of the situation, by Eduardo Trillo, professor at the UNED, international jurist. The event will be moderated by Adrián Vázquez Lázara, MEP for Ciudadanos and President of the European Parliament’s Legal Affairs Committee. A Spanish wine will be served at the end of the event.
