Casa Asia and the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA) are organising a dialogue tomorrow, Tuesday, in which the visions from India and Europe on the evolution of relations between the United States and China (1st session), and the dynamics of strategic competition between Washington and Beijing will be debated, as well as the key elements in the Indo-Pacific region, such as QUAD, AUKUS (2nd session).
India’s vision in this initiative and the role that the European Union can play through its new Indo-Pacific strategy will also be discussed.
The opening session will take place at 11 a.m. and will be given by Ambassador Vijay Thakur Singh, Director General of the Indian Council of World Affairs, and Javier Parrondo, Director General of Casa Asia. The 1st Session will be moderated by Professor Gulshan Sachdeva, Centre for European Studies, SIS, JNU, and Irene Martínez (in the photo), Researcher and Executive Coordinator of the Brussels Office, Real Instituto Elcano, and Ambassador Rakesh Sood, former Ambassador of India to France (TBC), will give their presentations. The 2nd session, entitled Dynamics in the Indo-Pacific, will begin at 11.50 a.m. and will be moderated by Rafael Bueno, Director of the Department of Politics, Society and Educational Programmes, Casa Asia, with presentations by Ambassador Anil Wadhwa, former Secretary (East), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ambassador Emilio de Miguel, Ambassador at Large for the Indo-Pacific, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, and Director of Casa Asia Centre-Madrid.
