The war drama Onoda, 10,000 nights in the jungle, a France-Japan-Germany-Germany-Belgium-Italy co-production directed by Arthur Harari and starring Yuya Endo, Kanji Tsuda, Yûya Matsuura, Tetsuya Chiba and Shinsuke Kato, among others, opens in cinemas today.
Late 1944. Japan is losing the war. By order of the mysterious Commander Taniguchi, young Hirō Onoda is sent to an island in the Philippines just before the American landing. The few soldiers he drags into the jungle will soon discover the unknown doctrine that will bind them to this man: secret warfare. For the Empire, the war is about to end.
