Tomorrow Friday at 6 p.m., the Instituto Francés of Madrid will screen the film La Famille Bélier, remade as Coda in the United States in 2021 by Sian Heder and winner at this year’s Oscars for Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor for Troy Kotsur.

The film, which will be screened in the original version with Spanish subtitles, stars Louane Emera, Karin Viard, François Damiens and Luca Gelberg. All the members of the Bélier family are deaf, except for 16-year-old Paula. She interprets for her parents, especially when it comes to running the family farm. Because Paula likes a boy at school, she joins the choir group like him. There she will realise that she has a talent for singing… Tickets can be booked here.
