The State Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Ángeles Moreno Bau, yesterday asked her Chinese counterpart, Deng Li, for Beijing to play a constructive role in the Ukraine crisis.
According to her Twitter account, yesterday she held a political consultation session with the Chinese Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, with whom she discussed, among other matters, the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Madrid and Beijing, which will take place in 2023, as well as other aspects of the bilateral agenda and international relations.
Moreno Bau explains that he reiterated to Deng Li “Spain’s commitment to the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity in Ukraine” and pointed out that “it is important for China to play a constructive role in the face of Russian aggression”.
