On the occasion of International Dance Day and as part of the In Scena A Palazzo cycle, on 29 April at 8pm, the Instituto Italiano de Cultura in Madrid presents the show CUTE by the Matroos DanceTheatre Company, founded and directed by Lisa Rosamilia in 2005.
Presented at the Rome Fringe Festival 2015 where it received the nomination for Best Direction and won the Special Off Award, CUTE is a living painting, a tale of images and metaphors connected to the sensations and experiences of a skin surface, the border between the inner world and the outer reality. The scenographic structure is inspired by arte povera artists, in the use of recycled materials assembled together following a pictorial inspiration. The dance moves in silent communication with the fabric, in small gestures or unexpected appearances of forms on the canvas, in a continuous and stimulating dialogue with music and sounds in a search for improvisation and experimentation.
