Casa de México presents this evening at 7.30 pm the book La forja de México: a doscientos años del surgimiento de una nación política (The Forging of Mexico: two hundred years after the emergence of a political nation). In the context of the bicentenary of the creation of the Mexican State (2021) and the bicentenary of the First Mexican Empire (2022), La forja de México addresses the multiple causes and consequences that brought about the end of a global political community such as the Catholic Monarchy for three centuries.
Written in collaboration with seventeen international historians, philosophers and jurists, the book reflects on the most important ideas and events in the transition from the extinct Hispanic Monarchy to the construction of the new Mexican polity. Juan Ramón de Andrés, Faustino Martínez Martínez, Miguel Ayuso Torres and Manuel Andreu Gálvez took part in the event.
