The Council of Ministers yestarday approved an emergency contract for 1.5 million euros to supply a total of 735 bulletproof vests for the Ukrainian population in response to a request made expressly by the Ukrainian authorities.
According to Moncloa, Ukraine made a request for bulletproof vests through the Ukrainian embassy in Spain, and the government decided to “directly grant a subsidy in kind for interventions in the field of humanitarian action consisting of the purchase and delivery of bulletproof vests for the Ukrainian population”.
The government adds that the contract was processed as a matter of urgency “in the context of an armed conflict whose situation poses a real and certain grave danger to the lives and physical integrity of the Ukrainian population”.
