The Instituto Italiano de Cultura continues with its ‘In Scena a Palazzo’
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Third date on 6 April at 8 p.m. at the Instituto Italiano de Cultura in Madrid with its cycle In Scena a Palazzo, with Animalconcert. Entertaining us with the contemporary music of the Duo Alterno (Tiziana Scandaletti soprano, and Riccardo Piacentini, piano and photo-sounds), one of the points of reference in the vocal-pianistic repertoire of the 20th century and contemporary.

Animalconcierto is a project of the Duo Alterno that aims to invite us to smile, inspired by the many pieces, some true masterpieces, dedicated to animals by composers of the last hundred years. Among these are composers of the highest order, such as Alfredo Casella (in this case on texts in Romanesque by Trilussa), Cathy Berberian (with an amusing game between the pianist and a hypothetical and annoying mosquito), Francis Poulenc (on the symbolist texts of Apollinaire), Erik Satie (with a work whose title is already a whole programme: Flaccid Preludes for a dog)… and some more, perhaps less known but perfectly on the subject and of recognised quality, such as the Italians Roberta Vacca and Riccardo Piacentini who with their pieces, Coplas de gatos, on texts by Lope de Vega and Jazz motetus X (Como un caballito de mar) on a poem by Federico García Lorca, have dedicated to the “protean” voice of Tiziana, as Quirino Príncipe defined it in Il Sole 24 Ore, two small musical gems.

Free admission, with prior booking request, writing to confirmaciones.iicmadrid@gmail.com and indicating name, surname and telephone contact of all persons for whom the booking is requested and in the subject “6 APRIL”. Bookings until 5 April. Access is not allowed once the show has started.
