This weekend, Casa Árabe in Madrid is hosting the Youth Forum against Everyday Hate, in which a hundred participants will join forces to establish a road map for tackling this social problem.
The sessions, which will be in Spanish and closed to the public, are part of the European project COCO: Against Everyday Hate, led by Cazalla Intercultural, from Lorca, together with Jovesólides, from Valencia, and the Fundación Al Fanar, from Madrid, and will coincide with the week of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
Around 120 people will exchange ideas and experiences in this forum, in which 36 representatives from the political, social and academic spheres from different regions, as well as experts in awareness-raising campaigns, will meet with 78 young people from all over Spain. The aim of the meeting is to jointly design a decalogue for political advocacy against daily hatred, as well as a national communication campaign.
Among the political representatives attending the event will be the Minister of Justice, Pilar Llop; the MEP Mónica Silvana (PSOE); the Second Vice-President and Councillor for Education and Culture of Ceuta, Carlos Rontomé (PP), and the Member of the Assembly of the Community of Madrid, Serigne Mbayé (UP). In addition, representatives of civil society and experts on the subject of the forum will be present, such as the journalist Moha Gerehou, who will give the inaugural conference. The event’s programme can be consulted on Casa Árabe’s website.
