The Centro Cultural Coreano is holding the K-POP Contest in Spain on Sunday 3 July at the Teatro Lope de Vega in Madrid, in collaboration with LOS40, with its tenth edition, which will include new features and surprises. Registrations to participate in the contest are open until 16 May.
This long-awaited contest returns with its two categories: singing and dancing in the K-POP genre. The rules are published on the Centre’s website and those interested can register there via the e-mail address indicated for registrations until 16 May. The selected singing and dancing groups will be announced on 6 June.
There will be two prizes for both categories in which the winner/s will be eligible for an all-expenses-paid trip to Korea to participate in the K-POP World Festival in the city of Changwon, as well as a prize of €1,000. The second prize will be €500.
To celebrate this tenth edition, the Korean Cultural Centre in Spain is collaborating with one of the biggest K-POP agencies in Korea, Cube Entertainment. Cube Entertainment will be part of the jury who will evaluate the level and talent of the Spanish participants.
The participants in both categories will compete with K-POP songs in Korean and will be evaluated not only by their talent, but also by the degree of difficulty of the piece performed, as well as the staging of songs from the current K-POP music scene. Also, as in previous editions, in the singing category, soloists may be accompanied by a maximum of two backup dancers. The singing group will be limited to a maximum of four participants. As for the dancing, they will be limited to the same number of members as the original group.
