Instituto Francés screens the film ‘C’est ça l’amour’, by Claire Burger

As part of the festival Elles créate 2022, the Instituto Francés is screening Claire Burger’s film C’est ça l’amour (Real love) tomorrow Friday at 8pm.

 

Since his wife left home, Mario has been left alone to look after his two daughters, who are in the throes of a teenage crisis. Frida, 14, blames him for her mother’s departure. Nilki, 17, only dreams of leaving home. Mario, meanwhile, hopes that one day his wife will return home.

 

This second feature by French film director and screenwriter Claire Burger won the Best Director Award at the Giornate degli Autori at the Venice Film Festival 2018. Her first feature, Party Girl, co-directed with Marie Amachoukeli and Samuel Theis, won the Camera d’Or at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival. The film was also nominated for a César Award in the Best First Film and Best Editing categories. His short film C’est gratuit pour les filles, co-directed by Marie Amachoukeli, won the César for Best Short Film in 2010. Bookings can be made at this link.
