Performed by the Orquesta y Coro Filarmonía and Maestro Pascual Osa, Filarmonía de Madrid presents its next concert: Fauré’s Requiem, which will take place on Saturday, April 9th at 22.30 in the Symphonic Hall of the Auditorio Nacional de Música.
A programme with which Maestro Pascual Osa and Filarmonía bring forward their traditional Easter concert to dedicate it, on this occasion, to what is considered the most delicate and beautiful of all requiems, that of Gabriel Fauré.
The soloists of the concert will be Cristina Domínguez (soprano), Rosanna Cooper (mezzo-soprano) and Luis Santana (baritone). As part of its Essential Philharmonic Series, Filarmonía has dedicated a concert expressly to the delicacy and sweetness that transmits music and deeply moves the audience that accompanies it. To this end, Artistic Director Pascual Osa has prepared a programme in honour of religious music and the beautiful compositions of Gabriel Fauré and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, with the Coronation Mass for organ, choir, soloists and orchestra in C major (KV 317), composed by the Austrian genius, a work of sacred art of the classicist repertoire, followed by the star piece of the concert, by the French composer Fauré, the Requiem in D minor, Op. 48. One of the most popular requiem masses, composed between 1886 and 1887, and performed for the first time in the Church of the Madeleine at the beginning of 1888, in a funeral service, and in May of the same year, as a concert.
