Casa Asia organises tomorrow from 10 a.m. the webinar The RCEP, the largest free trade agreement in the world: risks and opportunities for Spanish companies.
The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), the largest free trade agreement in the world signed by 15 Asia-Pacific countries, came into force at the beginning of January with the hope that it will encourage economic recovery in the middle of a pandemic. The signatory countries represent a market of some 2.2 billion people, about 30 per cent of the world’s population, in the world’s fastest growing economic region. The treaty harmonises rules on intellectual property and addresses the digital economy and e-commerce, which boomed after the start of the pandemic, but contains no regulation on labour rights and environmental impact.
Emilio de Miguel, Director of the Casa Asia Centre-Madrid and Ambassador-at-Large for the Indo-Pacific, will welcome the audience and give the presentation. Afterwards, there will be a space for consultations and discussion. Registrations can be made through this link.
