As part of the “French Scenes” cultural season and Francophonie Month, the Instituto Francés of Madrid presents this evening at 8 p.m. a talk between Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt and Mercedes Monmany on Paraísos perdidos, the latest novel published in Spain by the famous French-speaking novelist.
This novel is the first volume in a series of eight volumes, La Travesia de los tiempos, in which Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt rewrites the history of humanity. Novelising the history of humanity: the most ambitious project of the author of Mr Ibrahim and the Flowers of the Koran. It is a prodigious challenge: to tell the history of humanity in novel form. To parade the centuries, to embrace the ages, to feel their turmoil, as if Yuval Noah Harari had crossed paths with Alexandre Dumas. Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt has been engaged in this titanic project for thirty years. Free event until full capacity is reached. We recommend that you book your ticket here.
