Under the title New Talents, the Fundación Japón is dedicating a new cycle to the best recent Japanese cinema and to a new generation of filmmakers who have attracted the attention of audiences and critics both in Japan and abroad.
This new cycle features a group of directors, screenwriters and actors who, either because of their youth or because they have produced the most critically acclaimed works in recent years, are renewing the Japanese film scene. New “masters of Japanese cinema” who, in this selection of five films, most of them produced in the last few years, show similar concerns, such as the attention to small stories, the relationship of their characters with their surroundings or the taste for working with young, barely known actors.
The screenings will take place from 23 to 27 March at the Cineteca Madrid (Plaza de Legazpi, 8). The programme of the cycle can be consulted at this link.
