As part of the Madrid Piano Days Festival and in the framework of the 52nd anniversary of the Francophonie, the Instituto Cultural Rumano of Madrid, the Instituto Francés of Madrid and the Romanian Embassy present the concert Impressions de voyage en jazz, by Ramona Horvath, piano, and Nicolas Rageau, double bass, at the Theatre of the Instituto Francés of Madrid (calle Marqués de la Ensenada, 10) on Wednesday 30 March at 7 pm. Every year, on 20 March, the French language is celebrated around the world on the occasion of the International Day of La Francophonie, and more widely throughout the month.
Impressions de voyage en jazz (Impressions of a journey in jazz) is entirely a French and Romanian-inspired project with all the important and attractive ingredients for lovers of French, Romanian, Francophile and classical jazz. Inspired by George Enescu’s suite Impressions d’enfance (Childhood Impressions), pianist Ramona Horvath and French double bassist Nicolas Rageau offer a musical journey in the form of concerts and conversations, reflecting on the influences of classical jazz music and the impact of jazz music on the world of classical composers. The programme will include original jazz compositions and arrangements by: George Enescu, Duke Ellington, Claude Debussy, Billy Strayhorn, Maurice Ravel, Éric Satie, Gabriel Fauré Ramona Horvath, Nicolas Rageau and others.
