The Instituto Francés of Spain is organising next Thursday at 19.30 at its headquarters in Madrid, in the framework of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the scientific conference Journey to the seabed. Admission is free with prior registration.
The conference will bring together Elena Ceballos, Françoise Gaill and Helena Vieira, three leading scientists from Spain, France and Portugal, who will discuss the exploration of the seabed, the role of the oceans in capturing CO2 from the atmosphere, the effects of climate change on marine ecosystems, as well as the current challenges in the field of oceanographic research.
The conference follows the first international “One Ocean Summit” organised by France last February in Brest, and ahead of the next United Nations conference on the oceans at the end of June in Lisbon.
