At 10:30 a.m. on 18 March, the Palau Macaya in Barcelona (Passeig de Sant Joan, 108) will be the venue for the round table discussion Europe and the new strategic environment in the Indo-Pacific, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, in collaboration with Casa Asia and CIDOB, with the support of the Fundación La Caixa, and which aims to tackle the major strategic issues in the region. The welcome address will be given by Antonio Vila, Director General of the Fundación La Caixa, who will welcome those attending, followed by the opening address and inauguration of the seminar by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares.
Andrew Small, Senior Research Fellow on Transatlantic Affairs in the Asia Programme of the German Marshall Fund (GMF); David van Weel, Assistant Secretary General for Emerging Security Challenges, NATO (TBC), and Gabriele Visentin, Ambassador at Large for the Indo-Pacific of the European Union will participate in the event, which will be moderated by Áurea Moltó, director of the magazine Política Exterior.
