Spanish diplomat Estanislao de Grandes died last Friday in Madrid at the age of 74, due to Covid.
Estanislao de Grandes entered the diplomatic career in 1978, where he had an extensive career, holding various positions of responsibility, both in Spain and abroad.
His last posting was in Argentina, where he held the post of ambassador between 2013 and 2017. Previously, he had been ambassador to Slovakia, the Council of Europe and Romania, as well as having been posted to Cameroon, Yugoslavia, Uruguay and Peru, in the latter countries as second-in-command at the embassies.
In the central services of the Ministry he was assigned to Protocol and was deputy director general for Eastern Europe. He was a member of the Academy of Diplomacy and was the holder of numerous decorations.
