Former Foreign Minister Arancha González Laya has been appointed dean of the Paris School of International Affairs (PSIA).

González Laya, who left the government in July, shortly after the crisis with Morocco over the reception of Polisario Front leader Brahim Ghali in Spain, will take up her post at the beginning of March.

Michael Vicherat, Director of the Institute of Political Studies in Paris (Sciences Po), welcomed the former minister, whose wealth of political experience at national, European and international level, he stressed, would allow us to take a new step in the development of the PSIA.

González Laya welcomed the appointment and said she was “very honoured” to join Sciences Po to “work for a more sustainable and peaceful world”. “After a long career in international business, I have decided to devote my energy and passion to preparing tomorrow’s leaders,” she added.
