Special screening at Casa América tomorrow Thursday at 7pm in the Sala Iberia of the documentary El naturalista isleño, directed by filmmaker Freddy Ginebra and photographer Eladio Fernández. Tickets will be distributed at the Information Point one hour before the start of the activity.
This activity, co-organised with the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in the framework of the Month of the Homeland, will be presented by Samuel Esteban Peña, in charge of Cultural Affairs and Communication of the Embassy. The film will be introduced by Gema Sanz, production manager of the Another Way Film Festival, Madrid’s leading film festival on sustainable progress.
The documentary explores the unique relationship with nature of conservation photographer Eladio Fernández. Obsessed in his quest to investigate and save nature, Fernández takes the viewer on a tour of the most important breeding grounds for humpback whales, documents the conservation of an endangered bird, and the rediscovery of a lost magnolia in Haiti. The island naturalist invites us to rescue the unknown in a journey through unexplored areas of the West Indies that will significantly change the way we perceive the Caribbean.
