The Diplomat
George Gabriel Bologan, until now Romania’s ambassador to Italy, will take up the same post in Spain, replacing Gabriela Dancau, who in turn will be the new ambassador in Rome.
Bologan will arrive in Spain in March, after having spent many years in Italy, first, between 1995 and 2003, as a journalist accredited to the Holy See Press Office for the television channel Telepace, and, subsequently, as a diplomat.
As a diplomat, he was cultural attaché and responsible for the Romanian community at the Romanian Embassy in Rome, and later consul general in Milan, before being appointed ambassador to the Italian capital.
The new Ambassador is 47 years old and holds a degree in Communication Sciences from the Libera Maria Santissima Assunta University in Rome. He also holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration and in 2000 he obtained a degree from the Pontifical Gregorian, Oriental and Urban University in Rome.
