The Portuguese government yesterday repealed the requirement to present the COVID-19 health certificate as a necessary condition for crossing land borders.
“As of February 7, 2022, the requirement to present any health certificate (vaccination certificate or PCR/antigen test) for crossing the land border of Portugal is repealed,” the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported yesterday in its travel recommendations section.
As for air arrivals, entry or stopover in Portugal will be allowed upon presentation of the Covid EU certificate (vaccination, diagnosis or recuperation). In addition, the presentation of a negative test at airports was no longer compulsory yesterday.
The Portuguese government maintains the “state of calamity” until March 20. On January 10, the Portuguese Executive renewed the restrictions on entry through the borders with Spain for one month due to the increase in the number of cases of the Omicron variant of COVID-19.
