La Filarmónica presents ‘Bach Cantatas’ in original version
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Concert Society La Filarmónica presents tomorrow Wednesday at 7.30 p.m. in the Auditorio Nacional de Música of Madrid Bach’s Cantatas in original version.

The countertenor Carlos Mena (in the photo), together with Forma Antiqva, will perform the orchestral suites BWV 1066 and BWV 1067 and the Cantatas BWV 35 and BWV 170 composed by the German musician. This musical ensemble is a historically informed group and a reference in La Filarmónica in the performance of baroque music with original instruments. The group, led by the brothers Pablo, Daniel and Aarón Zapico, brings together the most brilliant performers of their generation. They mainly cultivate the baroque repertoire and their versions are respectful of the historical legacy. However, when they perform this music, instead of transporting the listener to the time of composition, they seem to transport the composer to the present day.
