Next Thursday at 7pm, Casa América premieres the documentary short film Solidarity is not cancelled (La solidaridad no se cancela), after which there will be a debate between members of the team that has worked on the project.
The idea is to highlight the idea that, in times of extreme crisis, such as the pandemic caused by COVID19, solidarity and a cooperative attitude play a fundamental role in social articulation. Solidarity is not cancelled explains very well how mutual support between anonymous people writes the intrahistory of a possible and real recovery.
Richard Zubelzu, director and producer; Martha Cura (Venezuela), from Refugiados sin Fronteras and Carlos Foliaco (Colombia), from Acción Triángulo will be present in the colloquium after the screening. Human Rights journalist Patricia Simón, who has extensive experience in humanitarian crises, will moderate this debate on how collective work allows us to better overcome individual obstacles. Free admission until full capacity is reached. Tickets will be distributed at the Information Point one hour before the start of the activities.
