The new comedy directed by Laurent Tirard, The Toast (Le discours), opens today on cinema screens. The film was presented in the Official Selection at the Cannes Film Festival.
This comedy is an adaptation of the book of the same name by the famous French comic strip artist and author Fabcaro, and stars Benjamin Lavernhe, Sara Giraudeau, Julia Piaton and comedian Kyan Khojandi, among others.
Adrien is a 35-year-old man in the throes of a mid-life crisis. One night, he finds himself trapped at an awkward and interminable family dinner where he discovers that his girlfriend wants to break up with him. Just when he thinks things couldn’t get any worse, his future brother-in-law asks him by surprise to prepare a speech for his wedding.
