The Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, held a telephone conversation yesterday with his United Arab Emirates counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in which he once again expressed “Spain’s firm condemnation of the terrorist attacks by the Houthi militias of Ansar Allah” against the territory of that country, perpetrated on the 17th, according to a note from his department.

The note adds that Albares conveyed to his Emirati colleague his “total solidarity” with the government of the Emirates and his condolences to the families of the dead.

In relation to the conflict in Yemen, the minister reiterated ‘Spain’s full support for the search for a political solution, within the framework of the United Nations resolutions’.

Finally, the note indicates that the two ministers discussed matters of bilateral interest. On 2 February, the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, accompanied by Albares himself, is expected to visit the Dubai Expo.
