The Instituto Cultural Rumano of Madrid is organising the first Continuous Reading of Mihai Eminescu’s poetry on Friday 14 January, on the occasion of the celebration of the National Culture Day on 15 January.

The event will take place at the Institute’s headquarters (Plaza del Cordón, 1, bajo dcha), from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., in person, and will be attended by important personalities from the institutional and cultural world, as well as the general public. Bookings for the reading can be made by calling 917589566, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday, or by emailing icrmadrid@icr.ro, until 13 January.

The National Culture Day has been celebrated every 15 January since 2010, following a legislative proposal, the date chosen as the date of birth of the great national poet Mihai Eminescu, considered by posthumous literary critics as the most important poetic voice of Romanian literature.
