Author: Eva García.

This book offers a fascinating journey, the discovery of the ties between two countries, their citizens, their political leaders, their ships and their navies.

You will meet Jorge Farragut, a Spanish citizen, born on the island of Menorca, who came to the United States in 1776 to support the colonies rebelling against British rule. A forgotten hero who must be recovered for his bravery, his courage, his strength and for his indisputable legacy, being the father of the first admiral of the USA, David G. Farragut. This book aims to contribute to this important milestone by sharing the best-kept historical secret: the bonds of union between the navies of two great nations: Spain and the United States of America.

On 5th November they arrived in Menorca to stay for more than three decades, where their officers and midshipmen would become part of life on the island, they would train in their places and receive training from local teachers, cure their sick and bury their mates with emotional farewells… Buy at this link.
