Romanian low-cost airline Blue Air has announced that by the end of June 2022 it will launch two weekly flights between Bucharest and Seville, which will be operated by Boeing 737/800 aircraft with a capacity of 189 passengers, according to the city council of Seville.

Flights to Seville’s San Pablo airport will come from Bucharest-Henri Coanda International Airport (OTP) on Wednesdays and Sundays.

This new route will be joined by the launch of future connections from the Romanian capital to Madrid, Barcelona, Zaragoza, Bilbao, Alicante, Malaga, Valencia, Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca and Tenerife, also by June 2022. The flights will connect Bucharest and Cluj Napoca – in the northwest of the country – with several weekly frequencies.

With this, the airline aims to consolidate its position in Spain, completing its offer of European holiday destinations by reaching 18 direct flights between our country and Romania.

According to the airline, Romania is a high-demand destination in Spain, which is why it considers that the new connections open up great expectations for passenger traffic between the two countries.

Blue Air is the largest Romanian airline in terms of passenger numbers. Its business model is ‘ultra-low-cost’, seeking “business opportunities in markets with little connectivity but high demand in its route network”.

The company operates Boeing 737 aircraft, and in its 16-year history has carried more than 30 million passengers and flown more than 340 million kilometres. The company is IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certified by the International Air Transport Association.
