Iraqi exile in London in the film ‘My beautiful Baghdad’

With the support of Swiss Films, the film My beautiful Baghdad, a co-production between the UK, Germany and Switzerland, directed by Samir, who is also responsible for the screenplay with Furat al Jamil, opens tomorrow on Spanish screens.

“Abu Nawas” is a cosy café in central London. A popular meeting point for Iraqi exiles where they share their longing for freedom and their desire to leave their past in Baghdad behind. Various ways of life, traditional and modern, atheist and Muslim, collide, leading to a series of events that will completely change the lives of many people.
