in Leisure

Next Thursday 30 December at 19.30, Filarmonía de Madrid celebrates its traditional and most acclaimed Christmas date with the Strauss family in the symphonic hall of the Auditorio Nacional with the concert Vienna in Madrid.

Filarmonía will offer a concert to bid farewell to the year 2021 with a programme designed by Maestro Pascual Osa for all audiences, in which the audience will welcome the new year and enjoy the festive atmosphere and dance characteristic of these dates from their seats in the Auditorio. It will be a unique opportunity to be transported to the Vienna Christmas Concert, held in the Golden Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna, Austria, which is always performed by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.

The programme of this edition of the ‘Vienna in Madrid’ concert is not only made up of waltzes and polkas by Johann Strauss (son) and Joseph Strauss, but also includes the best-known works by Franz von Suppé, Edward Elgar, Jacques Offenbach and Carl Zeller, among others. In addition, on this occasion, the Orquesta y el Coro Filarmonía will be supported vocally and rhythmically by the soprano Cristina Domínguez, on the one hand, and the Ballet Filarmonía, on the other.
