The Council of Ministers authorized this past Tuesday the payment of a voluntary contribution of 550,000 euros by the Ministry of Science and Innovation to finance, in 2021, the Ibero-American Science and Technology for Development Program (CYTED), under the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB).
The Ibero-American Science and Technology for Development Program has its origin in an Institutional Framework Agreement signed on May 11, 1984 by 19 Latin American countries (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela), Portugal and Spain. The headquarters of the CYTED General Secretariat is located in Madrid and Spain assumes its support costs by providing the material and human resources required for its operation.
