From 22 to 25 December, the Taipei International Food Exhibition 2021 (Food Taipei 2021) presented the world’s best food products to Taiwanese consumers, with an outstanding participation of the Lithuanian pavilion, a first-time exhibitor that attracted particular attention from visitors.
Along with representatives from fifteen other countries, twenty-five Lithuanian food manufacturers, importers and distributors showcased Lithuanian delicacies such as beers, cakes, desserts and snacks, while traditional Lithuanian dance performances enlivened the days.
James Huang, chairman of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) referred during the opening ceremony to the solidarity that the Taiwanese public feels with Lithuania, given the support the country has shown for Taiwan. Last November, Lithuania decided to open an office in Vilnius using Taiwan’s name with the aim of expanding mutual benefit in cooperation and exchange between Taiwan and Lithuania in areas such as economic, scientific, educational and cultural, as well as deepening the friendship between the two peoples.
