Until the 4th of January the Teatro Real in Madrid presents La Behème, an opera in three acts with music by Giacomo Puccini and libretto written by Giuseppe Giacosa and Luigi Illica, based on the novel Les Scènes de la vie de bohème (1851) by Henri Murger.
With musical direction by Nicola Luisotti and Luis Miguel Méndez and staging by Richard Jones, the great Madrid opera house offers this timeless ode to youth and its bitter final nod to its inevitable transience, in a co-production with the Royal Opera House in London and the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
