Spaniard Patricia Llombart has been appointed head of the EU Delegation to Morocco, the EU’s External Action Service (EEAS) said.
Llombart, who has been in the post since 4 November, was head of the EU Delegation in Colombia since 20128, where she remained until last summer. Prior to that, she held the post of Director of Infrastructure, Budget and Security at EEAS headquarters, where she is a civil servant.
The new EU Ambassador in Rabat is a native of Valencia, where she studied law at the University of Valencia.
Patricia Llombart has more than 20 years of experience in the European Union institutions, always in the areas of international relations and foreign policy. She worked in particular in the directorates for Latin America and the Middle East and dealt with Mercosur countries and Iran, Iraq, Gulf Cooperation and Yemen. He also served in the Cabinet of the Vice-President of the European Commission and the European Commissioner for External Relations.
