‘Way Down’, is it possible to rob the most impregnable bank in the world?

The film Way Down, based on the meticulous plan of a brilliant engineer to rob the Bank of Spain, continues to be a great success, taking advantage of the attention captured by the celebration of the final of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, which pits Spain against the Netherlands.

Distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment Iberia, it is directed by Jaume Balagueró and features a national and international cast headed by Freddie Highmore, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Jose Coronado, Liam Cunningham, Sam Riley, Luis Tosar, Emilio Gutiérrez Caba, Axel Stein, Daniel Holguín and Famke Janssen.

The Banco de España is completely different from any other financial institution. An absolutely impregnable bank. A bank that no one has been able to rob, of which there are no plans, no data, nor is there anyone alive who knows what pharaonic engineering was used more than a hundred years ago to build its vault. A real mystery… The target is a small treasure that will be deposited in the bank for only ten days. Ten days to discover the secret of the box, ten days to hatch a plan, ten days to prepare the assault, ten days to take advantage of an unrepeatable escape plan, when the awaited final of the World Cup in South Africa will gather hundreds of thousands of fans at the doors of the Bank of Spain itself… Ten days to achieve glory… or to end up in prison.
