The Embassy of the Republic of Turkey organised a visit to the Andalusian Technology Park in Malaga on 20 December, with the participation of the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Industry and Technology, TGBD (Association of Technological Development Zones) and directors of 7 technopolis of the Turkish country.
In a statement issued by the Embassy, it is reported that “on the same day a declaration of collaboration was signed between TGBD and the Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain (APTE) in order to take the first steps of cooperation in the information technology sector between our country and Spain. The delegation also paid an official visit to the IASP (International Association of Science and Technology Parks) located in Malaga. The delegation also visited the Mayor of Malaga, Francisco de la Torre, in his office”.
“The Turkish ambassador, Burak Akçapar, the statement continued, said in his statement that the objectives of the visit were to organise joint activities and field visits between the technopoles of the two countries, to match them according to their specialisations and to increase technology transfer between Turkey and Spain through business exchanges.”
“Turkey’s IT sector has reached a market size of 27 billion dollars by 2020,” the embassy said. “Our country has realised an export of approximately 2 billion dollars in the software and IT sector in 2020, and aims to increase the volume of trade in this sector to 15 billion dollars by 2026.
